
Brenda is a California native who earned both her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and her Doctor of Nursing Practice Degrees with honors from the University of Hawaii at Hilo. From there, she spent seven years working in pain management and occupational medicine. She focuses on a collaborative patient-centered multidisciplinary approach, tailoring treatment plans to meet individual needs and values. While at the University of Hawaii, Brenda collaborated on implementing a hospital crib card at the Hilo Medical Center nursery. She has always strived for excellence within herself and encouraged success in those alongside her.
Brenda has lived amongst multiple cultures, heightening her respect for diversity. She learned to quilt in Australia and was a Canadian provincial swimming competitor in Quebec. She values the uniqueness of traditional Hawaiian customs and the distinct aloha spirit that encompasses social behavior and a special way of life. One of her greatest influences in life was her grandfather. He instilled in her a resilience and a belief that anything can be achieved or an obstacle overcome with desire, hard work, and perseverance.
