(Q) Why should I come to Work Star for my industrial, auto, or sports injury?
(A) Simply because Workstar™ is the best injury recovery program in Hawaii. We employ Hawaii’s finest providers with multidisciplinary intervention for injuries and persistent pain related to such trauma. Your problem and complaints are taken seriously at Workstar™ and every available appropriate intervention is explored in an attempt to restore you to a more normal, active live as quickly as possible.
(Q) What are your operational hours?
(A) Our operational hours vary, so be sure to call to schedule your appointment.
(Q) How long does it take to get an appointment?
(A) If your problem is urgent, we will see you right away. We usually do accept limited walk-ins on a structured basis. Please call for information regarding our walking in policy.
(Q) What do I need to bring to my first appointment?
(A) Any medical records you might have. Otherwise, we will be developing a complete informational database on you through questionnaires and other documents on your first visit and track your recovery using a variety of instruments and assessments. Relevant medical records from previous doctors will also be sent for.
(Q) How long does the first appointment usually take?
(A) The first appointment usually takes between 30 minutes and one hour depending on the complexity of your problem. Additional time may be necessary if x-rays and other diagnostic tools are utilized at that time.
(Q) Do you perform surgery?
(A) Workstar™ is not a surgical clinic. We utilize non-surgical state-of-the-art recovery methods. We do refer extensively to the best surgical subspecialists in the State when patients require such interventions to aid in their recovery.
(Q) Who is responsible for payment and what kind of insurance do you accept?
(A) We accept virtually all insurances including but not necessarily limited to workers’ compensation, no-fault, HMSA, HMAA, UHA, as well as many HMO and PPO plans. You can inquire regarding the specifics of your plan at the time you schedule your appointment.
(Q) Can you work with my family doctor?
(A) Absolutely. We consider your family doctor as part of your recovery team and can keep him or her informed regarding our efforts and your progress at whatever level you and your doctor would like.
